How safe and authentic are the spices you use in your dishes?
If you think you’re consuming healthy spices rich in medicinal, nutritional and herbal properties, in most cases it is not true. Unfortunately, a number of spices that we buy in commercial markets and from local vendors are adulterated with papaya seeds, sandalwood dust, coconut threads, grass seeds, sawdust, chalk powders, chemical colouring agents and other artificial ingredients that are toxic to health.
Recent research also shows that the prolonged consumption of these adulterated species causes serious and fatal damage to our health including cancer, stomach disorders, liver disorders, ulcers, diarrhoea, ageing, metabolic, neurological, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases.
It is better to test and identify authentic Indian species free from chemical adulterants before you consume.
